The questions we get most often, answered plainly. If yours is missing, write to us — it ends up on this page.
Getting started
- What is adPluga?
- It is the advertising infrastructure that connects two sides: those who want to advertise and those with an audience to sell. Instead of building your own ad tech — decisioning, delivery, measurement, anti-fraud, payments — you integrate one line of code and get all of it. You can use one side only, or both in the same account.
- Do I need to understand ad tech to use it?
- No. You create the campaign or the slot, paste one line into your site and adPluga handles the decision, the safe delivery, the measurement and the anti-fraud. Your account already ships with an example campaign and creative, and there is a Test mode where you see it all working without spending anything.
- How long until my first ad is live?
- Minutes. At sign-up you say what your site is, and the account already has the property, an example campaign and an approved creative. What is left is creating the slot and pasting the tag — in Test mode the ad shows up straight away.
- What is Test mode?
- It is the same product end to end — decisioning, delivery, tokens, measurement — without money: nothing is charged, nothing is paid and nothing counts towards your quota. You switch between Test and Live at the top of the dashboard. That is also why, in Test, the usage and settlement cards read zero: it is not a bug, it is a consequence.
- Do I need to verify my domain before starting?
- To test, no — create the account and work right away. To serve in Live we ask you to verify the domain (a DNS TXT record or a file at the root): that is what proves the space is yours before any money moves.
For advertisers
- How do I create my first campaign?
- In Campaigns you set the objective, the pricing model, the amount and the delivery pace. Then in Ads you upload the creative and the destination link. Your account already has an example campaign — you can duplicate it instead of starting from scratch.
- What is the bid, and why do I need one on the free plan?
- The bid is not an invoice — it is your campaign's priority when several ads compete for the same slot: the higher offer shows first. In Test mode, and in slots you own, nothing is charged at all; the bid only turns into money when you buy space from someone else.
- Which pricing models are available?
- CPM (per thousand impressions), CPC (per click), CPA (per conversion) and CPL (per lead). Ranking converts them all to eCPM, so campaigns on different models compete fairly for the same slot.
- Why is my creative in review?
- Every creative goes through moderation before it serves. Once approved, editing a sensitive field — image, destination link, format — sends it back to review, because what was approved is no longer what would serve.
- Where do my ads appear?
- In the slots you manage yourself, and in the slots of whoever accepts a deal with you through the Marketplace. Never somewhere that has not said yes: on the other side there is always someone who approved.
For publishers
- How do I monetise my site?
- Create the property, create a slot in the format you want (300×250, for instance), paste the tag where the ad should appear and choose where demand comes from: your own advertisers, deals closed in the Marketplace, or external networks connected through mediation.
- When and how do I get paid?
- Revenue lands in your wallet as impressions settle. From €10 you can request a payout; the request goes through approval and processing until it is paid. Every movement is recorded in a statement that is never rewritten.
- Do I need a lot of traffic?
- There is no minimum. If there is no demand for an impression, the slot gets an adPluga creative instead of sitting empty — your page never shows a white hole.
- Who decides which ads show on my site?
- You do. Every deal is approved by you, every creative goes through moderation, and you can refuse or end a deal at any time. There is no blind auction placing ads on your site behind your back.
Marketplace and deals
- What is the adPluga Marketplace?
- It is where the two sides meet: whoever has an audience sees the available ads and asks to serve them; whoever advertises sees where they could appear and decides. It is a market with a handshake, not an anonymous auction.
- What is a handshake?
- It is the formal request between the two sides: the one with the space asks and presents proofs, the one advertising approves or refuses. If the advertiser has set automatic rules and the proofs satisfy them, approval is immediate; otherwise it goes to review.
- Which proofs can I present?
- Domain ownership, audience location, content category, volume, viewability and reputation. The principle is simple: measured beats declared — what we can verify weighs more than what anyone writes.
- What is a direct deal?
- It is the contract born from an approved handshake: 88/12 in favour of whoever owns the space, valid for 90 days, with a floor price and specific slots if both sides want them. From then on, that advertiser's impressions in that slot settle under that deal.
Pricing and billing
- How are decisions billed?
- A decision is an ad request: every time a slot asks what it should show. What counts towards your plan is the number of decisions per month — not the number of ads, campaigns or slots. Selling space only adds a commission on what it earns.
- How much does it cost?
- The Free plan costs nothing and includes 100 thousand decisions a month — it never expires and asks for no card. Starter, €9/month, includes 2 million. Growth, €39/month, includes 10 million. Above that we talk Enterprise. Paid annually, Starter is €84 and Growth €390.
- What happens if I exceed the included decisions?
- You buy prepaid balance: €5 per million decisions, in packs of 1, 5 or 10 million. The balance is consumed as you need it and does not expire at the end of the month. With no balance, delivery pauses until you top up — there is never a surprise invoice.
- Does Test mode count towards the quota?
- No. Decisions in Test mode are neither metered nor billed, so you can experiment freely.
Technical integration
- How do I integrate into my product?
- Pick whichever costs you least: the JavaScript tag (one line), an iframe, the React component, the native SDK (Web, Flutter, Android, iOS) or the direct server-to-server API. They all talk to the same service and produce the same measurement.
- Does the tag slow my site down?
- The tag weighs 4.4 KB compressed, loads asynchronously and never blocks page rendering. The creative is drawn inside a sandboxed iframe, so it touches neither your DOM nor your CSS.
- Does it work in mobile apps?
- Yes. There are native SDKs for Flutter, Android and iOS, alongside the web one. They all support the same formats, carousel included, and report the same viewability measurement.
- Do you support connected TV, digital out-of-home or podcasts?
- The technical groundwork exists — VAST for video, proof of play for outdoor screens, dynamic insertion for audio — but it is not open yet: we would rather open a channel once we can measure it properly. In the dashboard they are marked as coming soon.
- Can I connect external ad networks?
- Yes. Mediation asks external networks for demand over OpenRTB when your own advertisers do not fill the slot, in the priority order you define. You can use your own credentials or the demand adPluga already brings.
Fraud, measurement and data
- How do you prevent fake clicks and impressions?
- Every event arrives signed and is accepted only once (a token with an expiry and replay protection). Then we filter invalid traffic: data centres, bots, anomalous patterns. Whatever is filtered shows up in the dashboard — and is billed to no one.
- How is viewability measured?
- By the IAB criterion: at least half the ad's pixels visible for at least one second. Measurement happens on the device itself and is sent separately from the impression, so one does not contaminate the other.
- Are my data and my users' data safe?
- Yes. We comply with GDPR and LGPD, creatives run inside a sandboxed iframe with no access to your page, each account only reaches its own data through database-level isolation, and we do not build cross-site user profiles.
- Are the numbers I see the same ones that pay me?
- Yes. Impressions, clicks and conversions feed the financial statement directly, and that statement only grows: nothing is rewritten or deleted. You can export any deal's statement as CSV and reconcile line by line.
